What happens to the whole world at once: the Vote Boss, the Teleport Pot's double XP, the rotating bonus XP skill, shooting stars, Halloween mystery boxes and staff-run events.
Some things happen to the whole world at once. They are announced in the chatbox (and on Discord), and the Live events card on the Information tab shows what is running now.

Every coin spent on the minimap teleport menu goes into one world-wide pot. Each time it reaches 500,000 coins, everyone gets double XP in every skill for an hour. Filling it again while one is running adds another hour. The pot's progress is shown at the top of the teleport menu.
One skill at a time is the bonus XP skill for 30 minutes, earning 30% more XP, and the next one takes over straight away. The current skill is on the Information tab.
Skotizo is the Vote Boss. Every 30 votes from the whole server summon it, with a countdown every 10 votes, and the Information tab shows how many are still needed. When it spawns, type ::vb to join (not while in combat, teleblocked or deep in the Wilderness). It wakes after 60 seconds, and everyone who deals more than 1% of the damage gets their own drop roll, including 1 to 10 vote tokens. See Skotizo.
From Friday 17:00 to Sunday 20:00 UK time, PK points from Wilderness kills are doubled. See Wilderness & PvP.
Every second day from 18:00 to 20:00 UK time, all Pest Control points are doubled. Staff can also switch it on.
A star crashes about every 90 minutes and the world is told where. See Shooting Stars.
Staff can start a 30-minute 2x XP or +20% drop rate boost for the whole world. Each can run once every 24 hours, and only while at least five real players are online.
Staff host community events, at most 3 a day per host:

Prizes come from a fixed pool: coins, Mystery boxes, Sapphire bonds and Donator rings.
While the Halloween event runs you can earn Halloween mystery boxes: 1 in 150 from any monster with a drop table, 1 in 30 from a boss, and 1 in 200 per skilling action (at most one roll every 18 seconds). A box goes to your pack, or your bank if the pack is full.
Each box has a 3% chance of a rare: a green, blue or red h'ween mask, the Scythe, a Pumpkin, the Jack lantern mask, the Skeleton mask or the Zombie head. Otherwise it gives a piece of the skeleton, zombie or ghostly outfit.
The Party Room is in Seers' Village / Camelot. Deposit up to 8 items at a time in the chest (no coins or pets). Anyone can pull the lever for free: each deposited stack becomes a prize balloon, along with 2 empty balloons per stack.
