ASHMARCH

Drop System

Every kill pays its guaranteed items plus one roll of the monster's drop table, so a kill never pays two items from the same table. Each item keeps its listed rate, from COINSRATE at 1/4 to VERY RARE at 1/513, and game mode bonuses and a Ring of wealth improve them.

Ashmarch rolls a monster's drop table once per kill. Everything marked ALWAYS (bones, guaranteed coins) lands on every kill, and then a single roll decides whether the kill also pays one item from the rest of the table. A kill never pays two items from the same table at once, and on a typical table that roll pays out roughly one kill in four.

Every monster's table can be looked up in game with the drop table viewer on the Information tab, and the loot tracker in the side panel keeps count of what you've had.

Drop rate tiers

TierApproximate rateExample
ALWAYS (100%)Every killBones, ashes, noted runes from bosses
COINSRATE (1/4)Very common, about 25% per killCoin drops
COMMON (1/27)CommonBasic resources, low-level loot
UNCOMMON (1/75)UncommonMid-tier items, rune items on strong monsters
RARE (1/300)RareHigh-value items like rune equipment from mid-tier monsters
VERY RARE (1/513)Very rareExceptional drops
Each item keeps its own rate: something listed at 1/128 drops on one kill in 128 on average. The exception is a handful of boss tables whose items add up to more than one whole roll. There the common items are scaled down to fit, while everything at 1 in 101 or rarer (uniques, hilts, rings and shards) keeps its exact rate. The drop tables on this wiki already include that adjustment.

Boosting your drop rate

Your drop-rate multiplier is your game mode's bonus multiplied by your gear. Lucky adds 5%, Unreal and Ultra Ironman add 8%, and wearing a Ring of wealth adds another 3% on top. The skills tab shows your current total as "Droprate". Staff can also run a world-wide +20% drop rate boost for 30 minutes; see World Events. See Game Modes for what each mode trades for its bonus.

Drop announcements

A drop is announced to the whole world when it is rarer than 1 in 256 and worth at least 20,000 coins when alched. Dragon boots, the abyssal whip, the granite maul, the rune crossbow and the Dagannoth Kings rings are always announced. Clue scroll rewards worth 100,000 coins or more are announced too.

Clue scroll drop rate

Clue scrolls drop from any monster with a combat level, at 1 in 199 per kill. The tier depends on that monster's combat level:

Clue tierMonster combat level
Easy1 to 39
Medium40 to 69
Hard70+

See Clue Scrolls.

Slayer supply crates

Every kill on a Slayer task has a 1 in 65 chance of a Slayer supply crate: two rolls of noted herb secondaries, raw fish, logs and flax. See Slayer.

When you die

You keep your 3 most valuable items (4 with Protect Item; none if skulled, 1 if skulled with Protect Item). Untradeable items and pets are always kept and go to your bank. Everything else drops in a death pile: for 10 minutes only its owner can see it (you, or the player who killed you), then anyone can take it for about 1 minute before it disappears. See Wilderness & PvP.
