ASHMARCH

Money Making

Free coins from referrals and voting, the shops that pay the most for rune armour and raw fish, boss and revenant coin drops, and what to craft for High Alchemy.

There's no single best way to make money on Ashmarch; it depends on your levels and how much risk you'll take. The shop and alchemy prices on this page are set by the game, so they don't move. What players pay on the Trading Post does.

Sell to the Right Buyer

High Alchemy (Magic 55, 5 fire runes and a nature rune) turns an item into 60% of its value. A shop that specialises in an item pays 85%, so the right shop beats alching. General stores buy anything but pay only 40%, apart from the bandit camp general store in level 23 Wilderness, which pays 30% more than the rest.

Shop prices don't drop as you sell, so a whole inventory of rune armour sells at full price. Sell fish raw: shops cap what they pay for anything you've cooked, smelted, cut, made into jewellery or tanned, so those sell for less than their raw materials.

Smith Rune Armour

Once you can mine and smith runite, turn the bars into armour rather than selling them. A rune bar high-alchs for 3,000, but three of them as rune platelegs (Smithing 99) sell to Scavvo for 54,400, about 18,100 a bar. A rune sword (Smithing 89) takes one bar and sells for 17,680.

Combat Money

Revenants in the Revenant Caves drop coins on every kill, from 200–900 for an imp up to 1,400–6,300 for a dragon, plus revenant ether. Their ancient artefacts sell to the Stranger inside the caves for 500,000 up to 16,000,000 coins. The caves are in the Wilderness, so read the Wilderness guide first.

Some bosses drop coins on every kill on top of their tables: Zulrah and Callisto 20,000–60,000, Venenatis 15,000–45,000, Scorpia 8,000–24,000, and the Chaos Fanatic and Crazy archaeologist 6,000–18,000. See Zulrah and Wilderness Bosses.

Barrows pays better the more tunnel monsters you kill in a run. At 100 to 149 kills a chest has a 1 in 3 chance of a Barrows piece, and from 150 kills every chest has one, worth 7,800 to 168,000 in High Alchemy.

Herbs, logs, hides and bones have no shop buyer worth using, and grimy herbs can't be alched at all, so sell them to other players on the Trading Post. It takes a 12% tax from the seller when something sells, and Ironmen can't use it. For rune prices, see Runecrafting.
